Vancouver 4 Wheelers

Might be looking at swapping out my 2000 TJ 2.5L for a 4.0L, my 2wd Cherokee may be totaled just waiting for the final word. if the swap is worth the time and trouble. I've read the articles in the booksnow i am looking for the practical info.

concidering the engine is free (if they total it). then it comes down to all the extras to do it right. 

boy your talkn alot of work. I swaped a 4.2 for a newer 4.0 and that wasnt as straight foward as you whould think. Personally i would think about selling the 4 banger and try to find 4.0 somewhere in your budget. How many miles on the wrecked one? where was it wrecked? Are they givin back to you or do you have to by it back? how much?

They totalled it. 165k  i would rebuild it before tranplant. Left front corner outside of the frame but got the radiator, air box, cooling fan, p/s pulley and not sure just what else. they will give it back less the salvage fee. so i would need to find a tranny for it and convert the input shaft for transfercase. so i would look to part out the rest of the cherokee if i can find a interest. it is just a wild thought the 4banger doesn't do half bad just not peppy on the hiway.

opted out of the swap to much to deal with when it comes to disposing of the scrap. wait and find one i to build for play.
