    Re: Trail Jamboree 2008

I'm calling Trail Jamboree as a run in July. Registration opens Monday Feburary 11th. Last year it filled up in less than 20 hours. Registration is all on line at the above link. You pay for it using Paypal. The cost is $175.00 for a driver and 1 passenger. I dont know how much kids are but you can call and check. The entry gets 2 people in, camping for the duration of the event, dinner on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Also you get a couple of raffle tickets and you can buy more at the event. You sign up for trails the evening before you go out. Groups are limited to 15 or so rigs. Some of the trail group leaders even provide lunch for the day (not all, just some). The camp ground is on the banks of the Naches River it has plenty of room for tents and trailers. They have bathrooms on site, pay showers, and water is available.

There is a gas station just down the road from the campground that has gas, ice, food, and what ever out food items you might want.

When you sign up for Trail Jamboree you get in to the campground as part of your entry fee.

Rockrawler & I are already signed up. I think Larry H. registered this morning also. At first the $ 175 seemed kind of steep, but you get 3 dinners, 1 pancake breakfast with the camp fees included for two! And it said something about Sat. night entertainment ? Oh yes and some awesome wheeling sprinkled in for good measure. I'll have my 10 and 16 yr. old boys with me and my utility trailer in tow!

    Re: Trail Jamboree 2008

I got registered as well...  $175 is a bit steep but when you think about the dinners plus the breakfast plus the "entertainment", plus the trail rides, it's a steal!   Kara will be riding with me...

One question tho for those that have been there...  I know they have 'recomendations' of vehicle equipment, but do they severly limits who can join which run?   I don't want someone taking a look at my jeep and giving the 'bunny slopes'   I want fairly challenging trails, but obviously don't want in over my head...   Someone have recommendations of trails I should NOT attempt?

    Re: Trail Jamboree 2008

Since the cost includes a 'passenger' does that also include breakfast and stuff for them too? Just want to make sure we go prepared. Still somewhat contemplating on registering..but it's hard for me to justify the $175 AND taking all that time off work with just getting back from taking days off for the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally the month before.. :(

Oh yeah, and I found this list of trails on the PNW4WDA website..

I talked to Larry and Barry H. Larry has the yellow cruizer, and Barry has the grey cruizer. They both also got registered.

    Re: Trail Jamboree 2008

Depending on the trail leader will depend on which trails you get to go on.  One year the my trail leaders let me run everything and the next year they wouldnt let me run anything, saying I was too wide.  They will probably not let you run Rocky Saddle and Naches Pass might as well be a paved road.  Everything in between you can do.  A couple of them will require a locker but and doable without.  This is a pretty laid back event.  Kaner, Shoestring and Ravens Roost are all decent and make sure you make it out to Funny Rocks/Moon Rocks.

    Re: Trail Jamboree 2008

We have a week and a half before Trail Jam. Do we want to caravan up there in a group? If we do what time do we want to meet at and where? I was thinking of leaving town around 10:00 am on wednesday? I think it takes about 3 or so hours. We also might want to thing about what trail gear we are bringing. Kyle is letting me borrow his portable wire feed welder.

Our Gang Off Road and I are headed up there this Thursday morning. Coming home late sunday night. Figured we would go a week early and hopefully beat the crowds. Way to let the cat out of the bag on the welder marty....... Just remember only you are to use it. I don't care who's rig it gets used on, just you as the user..... That way if it gets damaged I know who to kill.... Super Angry
